BusinessLDN speaks for over 170 of the leading businesses in London, spanning a wide range of economic sectors. We strive to make London the best city in the world in which to do business, working with and for the whole UK. BusinessLDN supports the proposed increase in capacity at London Gatwick through bringing the existing Northern Runway into routine use. London’s worldwide connectivity is integral to its success as a global City, and its airports – including London Gatwick – are at the heart of a world-class supply chain. There is now a real risk of London losing out to international rivals with greater capacity. The Northern Runway project is vital to keep London connected with major economies around the world. It will support many thousands of jobs, both directly, throughout the airport’s supply chain and across surrounding businesses in the ‘Gatwick diamond’ and beyond. The project is also crucial to meet passenger demand from international visitors, who make a substantial contribution to London’s vibrant tourism, leisure and retail sectors.
