My concerns regarding the Gatwick expansion are regarding the increased levels of noise that will be inflicted on residents living under the flight path. As we already know the noise is 24 hours and gets to unbearable levels during peak time at the airport. Fordcombe is very badly effected already despite being some distance from Gatwick and will become almost impossible of these plans go ahead. There is no noise management plan on action. The only government directive is to reduce the amount of people effected by air craft noise and as a result the unlucky few who bear the brunt of this policy and the narrowing of flight paths and creating noise corridors have 24 hour noise with an aircraft flying over head approximately every 1 minute 60 seconds. My second objection is that we are in the middle of a climate crisis. How can expanding Gatwick possibly help with lowering emissions or improving the environment. If the airport gets permission to expand this will be a terrible environmental mistake.
