I object to the proposed change of use of the emergency runway and expansion of Gatwick Airport for the following reasons: This would have a massive impact on the local area in terms of noise, increase in road and rail traffic etc. This expansion is not needed. There is not a demand for more flights. A government survey into airports in the UK found that Heathrow should be expanded, not Gatwick, because Heathrow is closer to the centre of the country so would be more practical for air freight. We should be reducing the number of flights, not increasing them, because of the impact on the environment.
