As I write these comments at 06.32, there are planes passing over my property approximately every two minutes. They are not the first of the day. They will continue until after midnight. I am frequently woken during the night. Although there are supposed to be different flight paths used, and regular changes, there seems to be no let up. They pass both east to west and west to east and at very low altitude. I understand the need for change. I understand that flights are a necessary part of life for business and pleasure. There needs to be a set flying time schedule. Strictly adhered to. No flights into Gatwick after 23.00, no flights out before 07.00. Families need rest. The M25 is a failing motorway. It cannot cope with the traffic using it. It is the road that connects us to the many other motorways in this country. The time it takes to reach them is appalling. The artery is blocked. The M23 junction (7) has in the past few few years seen many closures around Gatwick. Especially overnight and well before flights end at night or begin in the morning. It has meant that those travelling to Gatwick for work or flights have had to use local roads - many just single carriageway, country roads. I doubt closures will stop. Additional traffic will involve more maintenance. All of this means more pollution. Noise and air quality.
