Enough is enough. How on earth are we going to meet the greenhouse gas emissions targets with a prediction of 75 million customers using Gatwick by 2030? The Government have set up a Climate Change Committee then decided to ignore their concerns because it doesn't suit business. I live in Speldhurst, a village with lovely black night skies where you can go out at night and see the stars. All this will cease when we are bombarded all day and all night long with planes flying over. And it's not just the light pollution - it's the noise pollution too. Some of the planes currently fly really low and are so loud - this will be magnified. We moved here to enjoy the AONB and all this will be shattered. Why designate an area of 'outstanding beauty' then purposely proceed to destroy it. It's a case of NIMBYism I'm sure. Our planet is so beautiful, why are you risking ruining it forever? Those making the decisions need to stop, slow down, stop being so selfish and consider the real people their decisions will be affecting.
