Growth at Gatwick Airport will have a huge adverse environmental effect on our communities and countryside. The plan doesn’t meet the Airports National Policy Statement and if approved will have far reaching adverse affects namely - Strain on infrastructure - ability of surrounding roads and public transport to cope with increased traffic Increased flood risk - river mole already floods when Gatwick discharge into it, increases in frequency of discharge will increase flood risk. Noise and air pollution - increase of aircraft departing and arriving into Gatwick will increase noise and air pollution affecting the health and well being of many people. Implementation of night flights will have detrimental affects on people’s mental health and well being. I hope the above comments along with thorough scrutiny of the economic plan submitted with the application are rigorously reviewed and this application is rejected.
