I outright oppose the expansion. Our day to day life is already massively impacted by the flight path being directly overhead with the Emirates Airbus A380 causing the most noise every evening; we already have to pause what we are doing for the period it flies over due to the noise pollution. The second runway would only increase aircraft noise. We have an interest in protecting our neighbours at Hever Castle. Development should be difficult to do and essentially, give the Castle and its surroundings protection from both visual and audible developments taking place. I feel by allowing Gatwick to expand we are going in the wrong direction towards where we should be heading with the reduction of emissions. We should be moving away from air travel, not encouraging more of it. A new runway would add a significant amount of carbon and greenhouse gases.
