I oppose this development for the following reasons: 1) The increase in Co2 emissions that will be produced as a result, both during the build, and as a result of the increase in flights and transport to and from the airport. 2) Air pollution which will adversely affect local towns and villages. 3) Extra congestion in the local area and the extra pressure on rail services. 4) The detrimental effect on the natural environment, and surrounding countryside. 5) The economic benefits are overstated and ignore the adverse impacts on the climate, local communities and surrounding countryside.
