Airport expansion only considers the operation of the airport and flight take-off paths to 3000 feet (I understand) and landing glide paths under control of the airport. Is the increase in the intensity of flights, quantum of flights, number of passengers sustainable in the context of CO2equivalent emissions and the commitment by HMG to net Zero 2050? Highway reinforcements proposed by the applicant are limited to M23 and A23 highway network close to the Gatwick Airport. The impact on County roads, due to increased traffic from the south east to the airport have not been assessed by transport studies, nor have mitigation measures been proposed.
