I live below the flight path of Gatwick and suffer regularly from the noise of take-offs and landings at the airport. I strongly believe that Gatwick should not receive permission for a second runway (or to bring their northern service runway into regular use). My reasons are as follows: 1. The government have stated that their policy is to add any new runway to Heathrow, not Gatwick (though I would prefer there to be no new runways) 2. The resulting increase in flights at Gatwick would lead to a significant increase in noise and discomfort to residents, such as me and my family. 3. The resulting increase in flights would be a significant contributor to climate breakdown and damage to the environment. 4. The plans would inevitably mean more construction, road building and more pressure for housing in the area.
