I represent a community organisation that is developing a new community orchard in Crowborough. Our work is to help combat the climate emergency and biodiversity loss by planting fruit trees and pollinator friendly plants on a disused site in Crowborough. We are distressed to hear of plans to increase the number of flights into and out of Gatwick. Our efforts on behalf of the natural world will be undone in days with the projected increase in flights with all the associated pollution. We believe the plans will have very significant impact on noise, carbon emissions, public transport and road congestion and associated air pollution. Added to this will be further pressure on affordable housing, local road congestion and parking, water use and flood risk. We oppose the planned extension of Gatwick.
