There aren't many places in the south-east which are relatively tranquil, but Betchworth, Buckland, Brockham, Leigh, Holmwood and the surrounding villages are. Generally speaking, we have very little air, light or noise pollution, we live in the Surrey Hills which is an AONB. We have a good variety of birds, mammals and insects as well as invertebrates living here. There are numerous Sites of Special Scientific Interest. Compared to those who choose to live in cities, where background noise and light is everywhere, the impact of this expansion would therefore be ENORMOUS - on people - and on wildlife. People and other living creatures who choose to live in this area value their peaceful existence. Noise is a well-known psychological stressor. Please do help protect, and conserve, it for all of us now and in the future, by not permitting this large expansion at Gatwick.
