An additional runway at Gatwick is a retrograde step for Kent in particular. The constant roar of jets going over our house will be very irritating and difficult for the quiet villages of the county. The roads will become even more crowded with the M 23 and M 25 packed with cars and jams in the summer. There will be a smell of engine fuel as well. The peace of Kent will be damaged beyond control.
