Following the last couple of disastrous years Gatwick should be able to expand to help speed up the recovery, particularly around the airport. The impact locally from the effects of Covid, Brexit and conflicts overseas has been significant and if Gatwick were able to invest this would have a very positive result. But it is much more than just the immediate locality. An increase in capacity will have an impact on UK plc, removing some of the perceived barriers of exporting and making it easier for businesses to travel and transport their goods worldwide. It is difficult in the current climate to make investments and Surrey Chambers fully support this important investment.
