I strongly object to the planned expansion on the grounds of: - Noise pollution - not compliant with CAA guidance / no ban on night flights. - Carbon emissions and impact on climate change: expanding aviation capacity - an industry incredibly heavy on CO2 emissions with no technologies currently available to reduce them - is in direct contradiction to the Climate Crisis currently threatening our continued existence. We have already seen increases in extreme weather (which would be further compounded by this expansion; e.g. flooding in the direct area) and should be looking to reduce our aviation traffic and investing in less carbon heavy industries such as electric rail and other public transport. Given that public transport links in the country are deplorable, the prioritisation of a Gatwick expansion is completely irresponsible and indicative of utterly inappropriate priorities when it comes to infrastructure planning.
