I object to the development of the Emergency Standby Runway for everyday use on the grounds that it will: a) increase the number of flights and there will be no respite as there is now when the existing runway is used for takeoffs. The flight noise will be continuous. b) the increase in pollution - particularly over the Ashdown Forest. c) the increased night flying and noise leading to loss of sleep and emotional anxiety waiting for the next noisy plane. Amsterdam has reduced the number of night flights in Law and many cities do not allow it. d) Planes are still approaching the runway over Crowborough from the stack at Mayfield TOO LOW and therefore TOO NOISY. Yours sincerely Carmel Yearwood
