  1. Expansion of Gatwick would be detrimental to efforts to meet the UK's carbon reduction targets. 2) The south east already handles a disproportionally high percentage of the UK's air traffic. There is no demonstrable need for further airport provision in the region, and adding more would overload our already congested and poorly maintained roads. 3) In the past, planes using Gatwick have been routed at low altitudes over the Surrey Hills AONB, causing significant noise and visual disruption. This should not be allowed in an AONB, especially one which is so well used for outdoor recreation. Expansion of Gatwick should not be allowed to result in pressure to fly aircraft low over the Surrey Hills again.
