The expansion of this airport is a disaster in terms of safety, (what happens a in an emergency?) Environment - we need to reduce the number of flights not increase then. Building more warehouses and infrastructure will be detrimental to the Surrey Sussex landscape. Pollution - from emissions and noise - will increase to an unacceptable extent. Expansion of Gatwick airport is inappropriate in a climate emergency. We need to be curtailing flights not encouraging them. The majority of flights from Gatwick are to mainland Europe which is easily reachable by rail. There are many reasons why no further pressure from aircraft should be imposed on local residents but these pale into insignificance compared to the climate threat.
