I think that this proposal will have a detrimental impact on the wildlife, and nature generally. I think this proposal doesn’t help the environment, nor the current residents of Horley or Crawley. There is a rare bee that lives in the area that will be concreted over, thus making it extinct and destroying biodiversity. I believe it’s the Longshot bee, which can only be found in the area that it is being proposed to build on The sewage system can’t cope with more people either living or working there. The River Mole I has frequent discharges of sewage and effluent that poses a real danger to nature and people. The roads around Gatwick get clogged up very easily, which won’t help the residents, or people arriving or leaving the airport. At a time when we are facing a climate crisis, heavy biodiversity loss is not an ideal way of showing that we are trying to improve biodiversity nor shows that we are helping nature to recover. With us facing climate change we should not be flying more, but less. Gatwick airport sometimes struggles with the number of passengers it has at the moment. Certainly the rail station can be very busy and frightening for disabled people, the elderly etc
