The Long-Horned bee faces extinction if this project goes head. Bees are on the decline as it is and all species of bee are vital in maintaining the biodiversity of the UK. The UK is one of the most nature depleted countries and we should be doing all we can to increase biodiversity and not destroy it. With global warming and the need to decrease emissions it is not appropriate to be building more airports or expanding them. We should be traveling less not more! It is a ridiculous project. If the government can't finish the high speed 2 train lines they should not be encouraging other projects that dig up and destroy other parts of the UK as enough damage has been done already! The people of Horley have been lied to about what the airport expansion actually will mean for them as the consultation was inadequate. We need more jobs in the UK but ones which give people a much much higher standard of living and the government should be investing in other industries to do this that provide green technologies not jobs that rely on old oil fuelled technologies such as the airport! The airport is so noisy as it is - I'm sick of the noise and not being able to open my windows because the planes will wake me up!
