I am opposed to this proposal for the following mains reasons: 1.The deleterious impact on the natural environment of the Kent & Sussex Weald caused by increased noise and air pollution from more aircraft. 2.The environmental damage and additional pollution caused by expanded human activity and additional infrastructure that will arise from this proposal if implemented with more housing, more road traffic etc.3.The consequent reduction in the quality of life and the health and well being of those living in the already overpopulated South East of England which will occur if this proposal is implemented.4.The Gatwick Airport Authority's persistence with this proposal by the devious means of utilizing the Emergency Runway to achieve their commercial objectives without regard to environment damage caused , the views of people living in the areas affected who have previously rejected a Second Runway proposal or, the potential risk to air travellers in the event of a serious and life threatening incident without the safety option of an Emergency Runway at Gatwick.5.In general, this proposal seems both foolish and totally contrary to the needs of the times as defined by the climate emergency underpinning such UK legislative actions as the phasing out of fossil fuels as power sources.
