The disturbance we suffer due to aircraft approaching Gatwick at increasingly lower altitudes and the frequency of such flights including those during the night is already intolerable. The increase of such flights would have severe impact on the health and wellbeing of all those beneath the approaching flight paths. The true cost of this scheme is too high for the so called benefits. I believe this scheme to be ill advised at best and at worst deceitful. The negative impact to this AONB and the residents in this area would be unjustifiable. The environmental impact from building through to the ongoing impact of a 50% increase in air polluting flights and all associated travel does not fit with the Government’s pledge to reduce our environmental and drive towards net zero in any way.
