The impact on the rural area where I live of aircraft noise from Gatwick air traffic overflying the area is already very significant and damaging to the tranquility and mental wellbeing of residents; if Gatwick is permitted to use the emergency runway as a second runway and/or otherwise to increase its air traffic, these problems will be exacerbated significantly. In addition, the deleterious environmental effects already being caused by Gatwick flights will be very significantly increased. For these, amongst other, reasons, I am opposed to any increase in Gatwick air traffic and to the plan for the emergency runway to be a second runway. I object to Gatwick's proposals to bring their northern runway into regular use. It would cause a dramatic increase in the number of flights overflying the area in which I live. That area is to a considerable already blighted by Gatwick air traffic overflying the area, in terms of noise, loss of the right to a peaceful and tranquil life, visual blight and environmental damage. If Gatwick is permitted to go ahead with its plans, all these issues will be exacerbated in the extreme.
