The proposed expansion of Gatwick Airport is disproportionate to the local infrastructure, and lacks sufficient investment in local communities to support not only housing and utility services requirements of the vastly expanded workforce needed for the larger airport, but also community health and education facilities will be put under immense strain. The impact of increased and prolonged noise from both construction work of the new runway and in the long term, the proposed number of flights, will make local residents lives unbearable. The pollution to air quality will cause increased health problems in the locality and affect the environment negatively, both on a local and national scale. It makes a mockery of Government environmental emission targets and makes no sense for future generations or protecting our planet.
