The climate change committee has said we cannot have any net expansion and we need to quadruple the emissions cuts from non-electricity generation sources (including aviation). It is time to invest in local transport infrastructure improving the lives of local people, rather than investing in international infrastructure that only benefits the richer in society. We cannot afford to exceed 1.5 degrees celsius warming, and there are already health problems as a result of local pollution.
