  1. The proposals would mean Gatwick expanding to the size of Heathrow, which would alter the whole of Surrey beyond recognition. It is neither necessary nor wanted. 2. The proposals represent a massive expansion of the airport which will be to the detriment of vast numbers of Surrey residents, including our community in North Holmwood, which already suffers from aircraft on Routes 3 and 4, many of which do not comply with the envelopes for aircraft flight paths. 3. The increases proposed in numbers and frequency of aircraft taking off will make life unacceptable for residents. 4. The noise from increased numbers of aircraft on flight paths 3 and 4 near us will be much worse than now. 5. The air pollution from greater numbers of aircraft on flight paths 3 and 4 will increase health risks to residents 6. The air pollution from greater numbers of aircraft will have a material impact on the UKs ability to meet carbon reduction targets. 7. The River Mole is already adversely affected by Gatwick. To double the runway impermeable surface areas will make water pollution much worse and make flooding downstream through Dorking much worse than it already is. Mitigation measures at Gatwick will not be able to prevent more flooding and water pollution.
