I object strongly to the expansion of Gatwick Airport as suggested in the application on the grounds of detrimental impact on the environment, health, quality of life and amenity value of the area. This is an important tranquil area outside London - a place for many, not just residents, to go to enjoy the heritage countryside and quiet rural peace - much of which is Green Belt or AONB or SSI. In addition to the huge impact of scaling up Gatwick Airport there is the additional impact from increasing the surrounding infrastructure to accommodate the expansion. Given environmental concerns over air travel it makes even less sense to pick to expand in an area of particular environmental value. This application should be rejected.
