I consider the main issues to be: 1) Increase in aircraft noise. There are already a large number of planes overflying my village (Kirdford) when there is an east wind which create a substantial noise nuisance. With another runway there would be a large number of additional flights which would add substantially to the noise problem. 2) Climate impact. The extra planes' engines would add a significant extra amount of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere at a time when we are in a climate emergency, and the world should be phasing out the emission of greenhouse gases in order to achieve net zero emissions as soon as possible.
