Noise pollution is already too high. We live under the flightpath. In summer, the noise from the planes is unbearable at night, keeping us awake. We cannot open our windows (double glazed) in the heat of summer nights because of the noise. The heat and stuffiness in the room is also unbearable. When I complained to Gatwick about the noise levels at night, they informed me that Gatwick is not required to halt planes flying in and out during the night (unlike Heathrow) because the area affected is sparsely populated. It may once have been, but this is certainly no longer the case and we have had loads of new builds in recent years and ongoing, not least the massive new development at Dunsfold Aerodrome, which is now underway.
