I fully support the the Gatwick Northern runway project. It represents an excellent private investment in the local area that will bring substantial benefits likely to greatly exceed costs as assessed by green book methodology. The local benefits will include (list not exhaustive): - local employment opportunities across a range of skillsets. - local jobs will help reduce the amount of out-commuting out of the area, thereby making better use of local transport infrastructure. - stimulate private investment in the local area. - improve resilience of the aviation infrastructure - addressable local environmental costs (carbon impact is not a local environmental issue and requires national solutions) The promotion of private investment is essential in the are as an ageing population will continue to put pressure on local amenities and services, while at the same time contributing less and less to paying for these.
