Since 1992 there has been a marked increase in noise pollution from circling planes waiting to land at Gatwick and this has further increased over recent years. Flights late at night and early hours of the morning create sleep disturbances. The proposed 2/3 runways will seriously impact our community and the natural peaceful area of outstanding natural beauty which we currently enjoy. The road and rail infrastructure within the Southeast is not capable of supporting 1, 2 or 3 new runways as currently it is almost at saturation which can only get worse with the government’s wish to create further homes. Our roads within the Southeast are a disgrace already in comparison to Europe and the North. Staffing the new proposal will lead to further traffic issues and incidents which are detrimental to the environment due to more pollution. There is no indication in the proposal as to which greater areas surrounding Gatwick will be affected by the expansion, this is again will impact housing and travel. We strongly object to this proposal.
