The proposal for second runway at Gatwick would have a detrimental effect on the people, countryside and wildlife of West Sussex. The reconfiguration the airport, with attendant new infrastructure, roads, housing, and the increase in air traffic runs counter to efforts to tackle climate change. More flights will only increase exposure to noise and air pollution. Efforts are already being made to mitigate environmental damage eg Re-Wilding project at Knepp Castle; Wildlife Trust Reserve at Ebernoe, plus many, many others. Please do not waste these efforts.
