- Quality of life is already being undermined by traffic congestion on the local road network and any increase in flights will further exacerbate the problem 2. Limited scope to increase rail capacity due to bottlenecks and surface level crossings. Increasing closure times at crossings will add further pressure to comment 1. 3. Gatwick aspiration to grow cargo throughput and inclusion of 25,000 car parking spaces appears to be at odds with claims the growth will not adversely impact the local transport network. 4. The application does not make it easy to understand what the impact will be on our parish in terms of noise and air pollution. I am concerned the DCO process will not be as rigorous with respect to environmental matters as submitting a planning application to the local planning authority. 5. How are Gatwick growth proposals consistent with levelling up and climate targets? Is this not a case of trying to put additional activity in the wrong location?
