Expansion of any airport directly contravenes the UK's commitment to net zero. We are not hitting our intermediary targets meaning the likelihood of hitting the ultimate target is slim. The Government's own Climate Change Committee does not support expansion Any expansion will lock us into increased carbon emissions and air and noise pollution. Air travel cannot be allowed to increase emission when the pressure is to reduce emissions for the sake of all living things.
