I strongly believe that the future and development of Gatwick airport is essential to the West Sussex area and neighbour counties who are all currently benefiting economically from the success of the airport. A “second” runway would definitely increase employments with either operating airlines or third party partners and retailers. Let’s not ignore the benefits that Gatwick airport has brought to the area. Let’s not be hypocritical about the impact it has on the local communities! If it wasn’t for Gatwick airport, Crawley, Horsham, Horley, East Grinstead, Edenbridge and all surrounding areas up to Brighton wouldn’t be what they are today. A high percentage of the inhabitants of these towns and city, work directly or indirectly for Gatwick airport. Stopping the growth of Gatwick will stop these same towns and city to develop further. Noise restrictions are already in place at Gatwick, reducing take off and landings at certain times. Aircrafts manufacturers (mainly Boeing and Airbus) are producing cleaner and quieter aeroplanes that airlines are investing in. If the United Kingdom doesn’t want to be left behind, Gatwick expansion is absolutely necessary and a “second” runway essential. The project has been talked about for over 30 years and many opportunities missed since. Wake up Britain!!!!!!!!
