Gatwick Airport Northern Runway

Gatwick Airport's proposal to bring their northern runway into regular use would, in effect, be creating a second runway at the airport. Such an expansion would greatly increase the volume of commercial air-traffic in the skies above my locale. I am expressly concerned about the impact of Gatwick Airport expansion on our area. In particular I am concerned that such expansion would bring excessive environmental damage in terms of noise pollution + air pollution + excess carbon footprint. Our local communities may struggle to see the economic benefits that many other communities would, whilst being subjected to the onslaught of these negative impacts.
