An extra runaway at Gatwick airport would substantially increase the number of air traffic movements over the TN8 postcode area and surrounding villages, leading to noise pollution. No jobs would be created here merely at the airport. There is no direct public transport link to the airport. There is already a very high density of air traffic movements in the South East due to Gatwick, London Heathrow, London City and Stanstead airports. The 2nd runway should not be approved. Funding for this should be used for developing and improving an existing airport needing high level of investment and be financially sourced through the regenerating “Levelling up” programme to create better transport links for an alternative area of the country. The South East of England has 4 airports, 5 if you include Luton and does not need further air traffic and noise pollution in its skies.
