As a Borough Councillor for Tunbridge Wells, I am voicing the significant concerns of our residents regarding the noise impact from the current flight paths, especially in Tunbridge Wells East. The low-flying aircraft on their approach to Gatwick Airport are distinctly audible in our area, despite measures like triple glazing. This is causing issues ranging from sleep deprivation to an inability to enjoy outdoor spaces. Given the volume of complaints and concerns brought to my attention, any proposed increase in flight activity or a new runway would be untenable for the community I represent.
