Gatwick has from time to time since we lived here experimented with condensing flight paths to increase capacity. When this happens life changes beyond measure. Sitting on the sofa on a Sunday afternoon can almost reduce you to tears with planes flying in every 2 minutes. Any increase to air traffic will mean an increase in noise - which is intolerable for residents and nature. Given Co2 targets and burning in our pants scenario which seem to be fast approach surely Gatwick should be focusing on how it will reduce not increase air traffic to support the UKIs stated targets.
