BVFoE oppose the 2nd runway expansion for the following reasons: Greenhouse gases will increase and we are in a climate emergency. (from CAGNE 1 million tonnes of extra Carbon pa will be put into the atmosphere. This is not acceptable. Air pollution will increase - this will impact on public health. Noise pollution will increase and will become more intolerable at a local level and further away from the airfield. The current infrastructure (road and rail) will not be able to cope with the increased traffic, freight and footfall. The demolishing and further building of car parks, taxi ways and other building will add to the Carbon emissions and will have a hugely negative effect on nature and biodiversity.
