The second runway should be refused permission on both national and local grounds It is not sustainable on climate and global warming grounds As a local resident I oppose it vehemently. Existing infrastructure is already at capacity and additional traffic cannot be absorbed by a road and rail network that currently fails to accommodate existing demand This proposal would destroy the villages of hookwood and Charlwood and make local residents lives unbearable It isn’t necessary either many airlines including BA have left gatwick as they want to be at Heathrow which has all the accessibility advantages that gatwick lacks I urge you to prevent this at all costs
