As someone who lives literally next door to the airport, since this company have owned it,night flights are relentless.Noise is 24/7.I do not have a problem in the daytime, but I should be entitled to respite throughout the night. Also, the current infrastructure is not compatible with what they are intending to do,M23 is only route to it.If this is blocked, all surrounding roads struggle.I live on an unlit overgrown road which has major traffic including large lorries using it as the ratrun from M25/A22 to Gatwick. Train service is unreliable and not served from enough parts of U.K. You only have to drive along the A23 to see the neglect of surrounding area on perimeter of the airport, broken fencing, overgrown trees,it looks a disgrace and not someone who is supportive and proud to be a Crawley or Horley neighbour. I have been a longstanding employee and user of LGW,it was an airport to be proud of,not now.It is dirty, understaffed, most of staff in customer service roles on minimum wage and restrictive contracts. All the above are just some of my reasons to object to expansion. There needs to be more engagement with the surrounding councils and neighbouring population.
