The substantial increase in air traffic, consequent congestion on local roads, overloading of public transport and other infrastructure will fundamentally change the nature of an already busy rural environment. There is no suitable access from east or west , no capacity to house an expanded workforce and no real requirement to boost the economy locally. Irreparable damage to the environment from building works, air pollution from road traffic and aircraft, fallout of fuel on residential and farm land will be caused and work against any thought of achieving net zero and maintaining the area as a desirable place to live. The negative effect on property values, the blight on the lives of people who live in the area and adverse affects on other businesses due to congestion are neither acceptable nor necessary . Authorities should be working to reduce the need for air travel and should not bowing to commercial pressure from Gatwick that will result in the destruction of our environment, and forever diminish the quality of the lives of everyone in the area.
