I own 21 acres of land under the flight path on Partridge Lane. This area is agricultural land and we have developed a wildlife reserve on this land in order to not only protect the land itself but also to protect all the wildlife that lives here and to continue to provide an environment that they desperately need and a safe haven to even continue to exist. So many people and companies are trying their utmost to help prevent the deterioration of green spaces, to improve the pollution created by air traffic and to decrease the devastating effect that air travel has not only on our local communities but globally. Our carbon footprint is horrendous and Gatwick Airport is a massive contributor to this and the negative consequences that it has had in the past and continues to produce right now. It is beyond belief that anyone at all would contemplate an extension to an airport or an increase in air traffic of any sort when there are such catastrophic environmental consequences for all of us. Catastrophic weather disasters and environmental destruction are now commonplace all over the world. We should all be taking alternative forms of transport immediately and for evermore if we are to reduce the damage that has already been done to our nature and habitats which are the very basis of our existence. I totally disagree with any form of expansion at Gatwick Airport and I can only hope that intelligent informed people will write to you stop you taking this destructive path.
