The dangers resulting from climate change have to be addressed very seriously, and airline travel contributes to global warming. The south east already has too much road traffic, and there is not the infrastructure to deal with a new runway. Although I live 10 miles away from Gatwick as the crow flies, and am not usually affected by noise because the flight path goes behind my village, air quality here is directly affected by the very large number of flights, which I can see from my house. But the main reason I object is because we have to stop increasing the number of flights because of global warming. All internal flights including those from Gatwick should be banned in favour of Trains as the French have already done, which would make a second runway redundant anyway.
