I object to the proposed Gatwick Airport expansion of capacity on the grounds that it will be detrimental to efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and it will increase noise pollution under the flight path. The increase of aircraft capacity should be avoided because all available evidence suggests that we need to reduce the use of fossil fuels more rapidy than we are currently, if we are to avoid a catastrophic climate change. Also, use of the same flightpath will significantly increase disturbance on rural South East England, with Groombridge directly impacted.
