Operating two runways concurrently at Gatwick would increase aircraft movements significantly. Therefore the associated noise and air pollution impacts to people living underneath existing flight paths and holding stacks should be mitigated. This may be by using multiple stacks simultaneously or introducing a new offshore stack (enabled by GPS navigation). Otherwise the proposed new northern runway should not be approved.
