  1. The proposal is against "levelling up”, does not comply with Airports National Policy Statement, or the findings of the Airports Commission. 2. Gatwick have misrepresented local support and massaged the statistics to arrive at the claimed 78% support. 3. Existing terminals look unlikely to accommodate 2 runways - Heathrow has 5. 4. Claim that a 2dBA reduction in aircraft noise will mitigate the increased flights does not stand up to scrutiny. 5. Interrupted sleep is now known to be detrimental to health. No business model should allow that. 6. Existing rail line inadequate and cannot be expanded. 7. No connection to London’s mass transit system - the Underground. 8. Road travel will be greatly increased, links from east and west south of the M25 inadequate. 9. No available housing for the 14,000 extra workers in this area of low unemployment and overstretched schooling and medical facilities. 10. All the County, Borough and District Councils affected are opposed. 11. Gatwick’s green credentials a smokescreen - what it facilitates is hugely damaging environmentally.
