We are in a climate crisis. The hottest year in history has been recorded for 2023. Storms are more common than normal. This is due to a huge increase in carbon emissions. Why do we want to encourage further plane travel? We need to invest in public transport, boats to encourage sustainable travel. Our time is limited.. if we continue to emit carbon at the current rate there will be no planet for our next generation. Something needs to change. Expanding Gatwick is climate suicide. Don’t do it! I just do not understand how anyone would see this as an option for development.. We are living in unprecedented times, but we do have the knowledge and intelligence to make smart decisions. It is not necessarily growth that is the answer, it is investing in climate friendly alternatives.
