The approval of this plan is a no-brainier - if we want our country to be competitive we need to have good links with the rest of the world - expansion of Gatwick’s capacity is essential to ensure that there are jobs for future generations - the airport supports many many other industries in the area and is the reason a lot of companies have chosen Sussex/Surrey to have base in are area. If we don’t expand the runway capacity in the south east region businesses will move to the competing airports on the continent where they don’t have the same restrictions on planning for the future. Almost all the anti expansion people are people that have moved into the area since the airport opened so are only projecting their own interests rather than looking at the greater good an expanding airport can bring in terms of jobs and homes.
